The Ruyton Foundation
Established in 1985, The Ruyton Foundation provides all members of the Ruyton community with the opportunity to contribute to the current and future educational and built environment needs of the School through philanthropic activities such as the Annual Appeal, capital campaigns and the Moreton Bay Fig Bequest Society.
Fees contribute to the daily running of the School, including securing, retaining and investing in the development of the very best staff, while philanthropy supports innovation, and helps to transform the educational experience for Ruyton students today and in years to come.
The Ruyton Foundation is dedicated to raising philanthropic funds to support the School’s strategic vision, providing for Ruyton’s future in a rapidly changing world.
The Founder’s Scholarship is a financially means-tested scholarship that provides the gift of a Ruyton education to a young girl who could otherwise not afford to attend our school. At present, we offer this scholarship to one girl, and through the generosity of our community we hope to build this to provide six scholarships every year in perpetuity.
The Building Fund was established to extend the learning opportunities and breadth of experience for students and staff through the development of state-of-the-art facilities. Gifts to the Building Fund have enabled key projects such as the Margaret McRae Centre, the redeveloped Junior School, and our new Performing Arts Centre and Library Precinct.
Our students stand on the shoulders of those who guide and teach them, learning integral values and lessons that will positively influence their futures. Providing additional opportunities for our educators to further develop their professional practice, this fund positively impacts learning and teaching in our classrooms and enhances Ruyton as a centre of learning and leadership.
The Moreton Bay Fig Bequest Society was established in 2018 to celebrate and honour those who have chosen to include Ruyton as a beneficiary in their will. Over time, Ruyton Girls’ School has received some wonderful bequests from members of the school community. The Wiktor Lapcik bequest made it possible to rearrange our learning spaces to create the South House Program for our Year 4s. A bequest from the estate of Mary Hope St Clair Crampton created the Catherine Wood Academic Excellence Prize in memory of Ruyton’s 8th Principal, Catherine Wood.
Every gift, no matter the size is valuable and can be unrestricted or designated to a particular purpose such as a scholarship, prize or enhancing the school’s facilities and learning environment. By leaving a gift to Ruyton in your will, you become a significant part of something larger than yourself - something that will continue thriving and empowering Ruyton girls long after you are gone.
